I finally won this one on ebay 2 weeks ago, its in a ANACS slab cleaned AU-50 toned.

I find it very difficult to shoot this one through the plastic slab, and getting the mint mark right to show with toning around it.

Checking the VarietyVista site there is a total of 16 ANACS verified/certified coins, (not sure if this is up to date either) the highest is ANACS MS-64, the values on all grades in the site is out of date. Also I don't have population records to the other 2 TPG. If anyone have memberships to PCGS and NGC that can provide it that would be great. Please post.

Congrats, Mac! The total pop at PCGS is 5 coins. I have an attributed xf-45 in my set. I sold my lower graded one off my website when I had the better on graded.

All No Band coins.

Did you know the same person discovered the 1945-S/Horizontal S, and the 1945-D/Horizontal D?

Thanks Tony,

Amazing! Didn't know that the same person discovered both the horizontal S and D varieties.

Here's the 1945 D over horizontal D I have been hesitating of submitting NGC or PCGS or ANCS, I have put it in NGC forum and I got a response back from David Ganz that he thinks is the variety but need to submit the physical coin.

I found it in a roll of AU coin 2 years back.

That's the one.

Here is a link to the image from my website. You know you can go there and check the varieties. I have most of the Mercury dimes listed.

I had this coin in my collection for about 30 years b4 I decided to take a closer look at it and found a 1941 S/S. Any idea about value on this one? Probably not good enuf shape to slab.

Nice finds everybody!

The variety database at NGC states that they have "no population data" for the 1945 S over horizontal S. I guess that means that NGC has not yet certified a coin in this variety...?
