"Model" coins are not genuine, government-issued coins. Some were privately-produced patterns, attempts to convince the government to issue certain coin designs. Some are simply toy coins or play money.They are still collectable, though perhaps not to the same extent as regular British coins. Your piece is not listed in the Krause "Unusual World Coins" book or NGC website, so I assume this one is one of the "toy coin" types.
