I have several non-magnetic 2011 but no magnetic ones.

Compared to the 2009 magnetic cents, which ones are more scarce?

Now, should I let a compamy certify my magnetic cents, even when they don't seem to be rare?

Probably not worth certifying unless you think they will get MS67. At that level they might be $40 coins at ebay selling prices. At MS66 probably $15 to $20 coins. At MS65, probably worth less than the certification unless you are taking the 100-at-$6.50-each route without paying the $2 upcharge for specifying magnetic.

Anyone know a website for the trend?

I have a mint box of 2011 magnetic 2500 1 cent coins still in the mint's plastic rollers, what kind of grade do sealed mint rolls usually return? After seeing those prices I wonder if it would be worth certifying a couple rolls then selling them off one at a time.

If you certify the entire rolls you will likely lose money. If you do the whole roll you will likely pay the fee to certify a whole lot of 62s, 63s and 64s with no commercial value. I am not sure what the incidence of high grades is but ICCS has not certified that many 67s so far so the odds are against you I would say.

At 5$ for a 66 and 50$ for a 67 it seams like to much of a spread if the odds are less than spectacular.

Certifying 50 coins at the lowest ICCS price level will cost you $325 + HST. I bet you get 2 MS 67s or less. Not a good bet I would say.

There are 360 million magnetic 2011 cents, according to the latest annual report. (That sounds like the total opposite of rare!)

Since the gouvernment is eliminating pennies, are they going to melt the magnetic ones, just bucause they have more melt value?

Or are they just going to leave them in circulation?

the magnetic one cents would have less melt value, it's just a cheap steel core. older 98% copper cents have much more melt value
