Here it is.. my oldest specimen, and a prime candidate for most worn-out example in the thread! Variety = O-? ? ? This one is going to become a 'pocket-it-now' as soon as I figure out the process..

Really great 1818's everyone! MySilverYears - I have lots of well traveled coins like yours and imagine that they have seen some interesting history. Here are my 1818's and my guesses regarding the varieties. 104 R4? O-109 ? O-107 R1 ?

A day late, but here is my best bust half. This I think is O-108, the "pincer 8" variety. It's R1 overall but I recall a mention in the Breen encyclopedia that O-108 is "extremely rare" in mint state. Mine is in a PCGS MS-63 slab. I've wondered whether it might benefit from a trip to NCS to see if they can remove that blotchy obverse toning. I think it does detract from the eye appeal just a bit....

WOW That is a beautiful 1818. Better a day late than a half-dollar short.
