I'm always on the lookout for scarce date gold in low grade since such coins may sell for little more than bullion value. I don't know what potential upside there may be if/when I want to sell but I enjoy the hunt.

This coin is officially my lowest-grade half eagle. With an original mintage of 26,700 it's seldom seen and very costly in high grade. Not so expensive like this! What grade do think it deserves?

Wow, she has really been around. Probably a coin in the "good" range. How many people used her? How did this extremely worn coin avoid the government withdrawal of the 30's? I have never seen such a worn gold piece, cool coin.

I say F-12+ Compared it to a G-10 76CC on the Heritage site. Yours is better.

It is a gorgeous coin circulated gold should really carry a premium!

I would put this one between VG-8 and VG-10... probably closer to VG-10

FYI, the weight of this coin is 8.11 grams. Since the original/standard weight is 8.359 grams, it has lost 0.249 grams, or about 3% of its original weight.
Rest in Peace

I would put it around G-6.
