Found recently at a flea market this coin is in PL-65! I know a lot of rotations occurred in 67', but 70deg, on the nickel?

Can anyone out there give me an idea of the rarety and value?

tks Vance

I've heard of 30 degrees or so, but never to the extreme that you describe. A PL with that flaw would fetch a long dollar. If you can post a couple of pics, that would be great!

1967 PL 5c coins can occur all the way around the clock. Obviously, those that are 180 degrees and more are a bit scarcer.

I sold a set with this same rotation in 2002 on ebay for $350.00 US. This rotated error variation is CONSTANT and seems to occur in PL sets and black cased specimen sets of 1967. All the ones I have handled (4 in total) all came out of collections or accumulations in Ontario. Hope this helps.

Ok, would anyone care to guess how many of these sneeked through the door?

They did not sneak through the door, they were shipped out the front door. You can still find them in PL sets. I think because they occur around the clock, that this is due to a die loosening (unintentionally).
