My mother-in-law buys stuff regularly from Littleton. I think their prices are too high but they have nice stuff. I have looked at their catalogs more than once. With this hoard of Ikes, I will have to check these out. But if the price is too high, I will still pass. But I will bet that Littleton's will sell all of these over time and make a nice profit on them also. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm sure the graders examining the coins will have some good finds...what they do with the true possible MS67 is unknown...if they label them as such, I would be wary(with their own label)..at this point, the only TPG I trust to accurately grade an Ike dollar is Anacs....
That said, what will they do with all of the Doubled Dies, Peg legs and Clashed Ikes? The Denver Mint is known for most of the problem Ikes collector's like me hunt for...
Prices will most likely be more than I'd pay...I'd rather just find my own at my usual price from a dealer I use monthly..$1.08 per Ike, in bulk..hes nice enough to throw in a roll of EF/AU with every 100 I buy, to sweeten the load...nothing too major, but, it's a steady supply.

Ha, I had not seen the article, so I thank you for reposting, though the newspaper article link is now broken because it is outdated. the Ike hoard was "found" in my hometown, which made me chuckle. I am certain I know the name of the guy who hoarded the Ikes...Small town.

These coins had to come from Helena resident and well-known coin dealer Wayne Miller.

What makes the coins "rare"?

Because the teenagers at Burger King have never seen them before and because Littleton says so in their over-brandished advertisements.
