PCGS and NGC are the most respected. Any past that probably won't command a premium for the given grade at auciton.

Short answer, no. Chris Buesnell of Pacific Rim Coins attempted to start one a few years ago (ACGS, I believe it was called) but it never really got off the ground. There just isn't enough demand for a TPG in this country.

The OP of this thread has joined the forum under several different usernames in the past week or two, in an attempt to spam their "new Australian TPG". If choosing an acronym suspiciously close to a major American TPG and spamming coin forums in an attempt to gain credibility is their idea of good business practice, I pity the fools.

I'm glad TPG's havent come to Australia yet. I think that the whole idea of labelling a coin with a grade is ruining the hobby, as it leads to the point where people are only interested in "buying the plastic not the coin". I'd be all for it if it was just for authentication. Also, SAP is on the money in saying that there isn't a demand for TPGs in Australia - most collectors and dealers I have spoken to are against the idea of slabbing.

prefer to hold and see my coins without looking through a block of acrylic.
Maybe if it was a one and only coin in the world I may have it sealed but besides that let me feel it!

TPG grading of Australian coins has certainly come to our market and it only going to get stronger. Love it or hate it I think it's here for the forseeable future.
