While surfing ebay I came across this 1843 Seated Liberty half. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1843-SEATED...em19cb8bcd72
or item #110789119346
Something looked odd about the coin. It looks like the top half of Liberty is larger in perportion to the bottom half. For example, compare the height of the shield to the distance between the top of the shield and where her neck and shoulders meet. Compare that with any other SL half.

It may be the angle the photo was taken but I think it would look more "oval" if it had.
Do I need my eyes examined? What do you see here?

I agree, think its just the angle when taken. Is that damage to her face?

Its probably just the camera angle, the coin has the sharpness you would expect from a genuine coin. I do however think that the grade the seller has given to the coin is somewhat generous.

The unfortunate ding to Liberty's face brings the grade down.

Look at how hard the shield stripes are cut up into the crossbars. That's insane.

I definitely agree that the seller was a bit generous on the grade, as well. That's definitely not an AU, XF at best. And there's definitely nothing wrong with that coin, it's simply the angle at which the photo was taken.

I have done the same thing with my pic's. I would crop the crop once it was uploaded to the putter and then it would look a little distorted. I agree the ding to the face takes a huge hit in the grading for me.
