I check this forum before going to work and then after arriving home and see so much activity. The variety of coins being posted both old and new is amazing. As a collector of the 'oldies' seeing two 1795's in one day is just unbelievable! Here's my #3 favorite - an 1801 Large Cent

Quote: Moe--how do you know its a 1916? Normally I let our 1916 Standing Liberty quarter "Whisperer", Johnny 54321 ("Countdown") quantify how he determines the year 1916 from the 1917, but last time this topic came up I saved his explanatory slides and will post them for us all to review. (One of the very biggest give-aways is the lack of shield rivets on the 1916. The 1917 has VERY pronounced rivets all the way down to FR grade).

D0ubl3Eagle, from what I am seeing in this thread you have an OUTSTANDING collection! I can't wait to see your #1 and 2 coins! Quote: 3. 1859-O Seated Liberty Half Dollar What was this coin graded? It looks like it is in a PCGS holder.

By far the coolest coin posted so far is MOE's! Not that I'm biased or anything... hehe, great coins everyone! Ahh, your seated half is a beauty DoubleEagle! I had a hard time coming up with number 3. I went with the 1908 Saint Gaudens, the first big gold coin I've ever held...it was such a thrill to purchase!
