Wonderful gesture beaglebailey! Especially makes a nice gift for a young collector. This CCF family is something else!

Darn. About 20 or so posts short... I have to be fair and not ask for the book but I just have to know, what is the Red Book? I've heard it's used to identify coins but that's about all I know about it.

Ok thanks for the info :)

Edit: I did some research on my own of it, and it looks useful. If nobody claims it by the time I hit 50 posts I'd gladly find use for it myself! I just started collecting U.S. coins this past summer and I always find coins that I have questions about, I think it would be a great learning tool.

Yes, it was mailed on Thurs. A coin I purchased was mailed on Wed. and I haven't received yet. Mail is a little slower this time of year. Be patient.

I think the RedBook is a great gift for a young collector. I remember when I was 14 the RedBook was my bible and I used it so much that the pages fell out of the binding. Enjoy!

Yankee, Nice to see a young collector join this great hobby. I can remember going through my first Red Book in the 60's (when I was 14). I couldn't afford to buy coins then so I just pulled what I could out of circulation. Unfortunately, the silver coins were pretty well used and I didn't save very many. Half dollars were very scarce, or so I thought, so when I found one I put it aside. Didn't find very many - maybe 3-4.
