I got an idea of holding this contest long long time ago. Finally I got the guts to do it.
Most questions will be of a trivia type, some will be "thinkers" similar to "Scooby snacks". But all questions will relate to coins or currencies! I tried to come up with questions so that plain googling shouldn't be enough.
I will post one question at a time. The first person to post a complete and correct answer will get a point. One attempt a day, edited posts will be disqualified. Comments and clarifying questions are fine, just clearly state which post of yours is your "official" answer to my question. In case a question is not answered within 24 hours (wishful thinking, maybe) you may start posting your next attempt, still only one a day.
First person to get three points will win the grand prize. At this point I won't disclose what it is - the very first question will shed the light on its identity. I'll just say it's a large silver coin. All runners up (with non-zero points) will also get some (darkside) trophies.
Eligibility! To participate in this contest you need at least one quality post! I see that some new members put fabulous introductions of their numismatic interests in a part of the forum which keeps their post count at 0 while some "valued members" don't have a single post without LOL. The post counter won't matter!
I'd like to start in a few days, maybe the end of this week. At this time I want to solicit your suggestions on the question posting time - so that we are fair to our overseas fellow forumers as well as Western hemisphere contestants!
Thank you!

I guess you folks are letting me choose the time. I noticed that at night (here) we have decent traffic.
So, the first question will be posted this Thursday, 11 PM forum time. On the opposite side it will be Friday morning, molydeii would have to get up early, but I don't think I should push it any later.

It'll be roughly about 6AM my time, but, hey of course! Most people are on the other side of the ocean so, I'll play along, no problem at all! Even if I do not win anything at all, I always have my friend the dancing banana. :) Excited about it!. :)

Who knows, questions may go unanswered overnight? At least I hope not all of them will be quickies.

I doubt I'll get any of the answers, but I will certainly be reading along and learning.

Sorry, folks, the first question turned out to be long, I promise, the rest of them will be shorter. I just tried to make it not too obvious.
I reiterate that to get a point your answer has to be complete, correct on every point, and be the first one like that. I will not comment on what's wrong with the answers that I do not accept not to help the competition. It's gonna be either "Yeay" or "Nay" from me.
If you need to ask any clarifying questions go for it. If I prefer not to answer a certain question I'll let you know.
