How would you grade it? It has a plain edge.

Based on the PCGS Photograde, I'd have to go with either an F-15 or VF-20. The lack of detail in the hair is the killer. Other devices are strong, however. All in all, what a wonderful old lady!!

I'd say F-15.
Rest in Peace

I've seen similar coins in PCGS VF-20 holders so I'm guessing it might make that grade. The coin seems essentially corrosion-free in the photos but I can't be sure. The reverse has a hint of granularity and sometimes that weakness in lettering and rims is partly the result of corrosion. If that is the case here, the coin appears to have been well-conserved to stabilize the surfaces.

I'm still looking for a nice Liberty Cap with solid detail and no problems. Yours is a beauty!

I'm with Jaobler - I saw the mentions of "12" and I thought no way. I'm guessing strong F and perhaps VF. Looks weakly, unevenly struck. Sure is a beauty, even with a fine layer of porosity!

The wear puts this at F-15 for me. It is, however, head and shoulders above almost every other 1795 LC I've ever seen.

NICE!
