I got a 1921 5c F15 and one in VG 10. Both have very nice eye appeal. It's not easy to find them looking so nice. I also got 2 1872 50c AV for the regular 1872. And my best find ever. A 1906 25c Small Crown for $8. All from the same dealer. I will post my finds in the new year. It's almost unbelievable

I spent roughly $1000 at last night's auction, but it was spread-out pretty thinly over a bunch of coins:

1959 & 1960 RCM PL Sets ===> ($100 total)

1894 Newfie 20 cents VF30
1896 Newfie 20 cents VF30
1899 Newfie 20 cents small 9's VF30
1900 Newfie 20 cents VF30 ===> ($300 total for all four coins)

Error => 1982 quarter struck on ten cent planchet (very pretty)
Error => 10 misc coins, with off center strikes & cap errors (some nice, some kinda lousy) ===> ($600 total for the 11 error coins)

All-in-all, I was pretty happy with my purchases ...

Note => they may not have been the most expensive purchases made in 2011, but they were my "final" purchases of 2011

=> Happy New Year, CCF

I don't bid that Auction anymore the picture's of the coins are crappy they used to be way better a year ago.
Or maybe it's my computer I switched to (Windows 7) 6 months ago but I find that the quality of there photo's are very poor hard to see the fine details of the coin and only one side of the coin is shown.

I hear you papeldog re the poor photos.....but Eric always seems to offer very honest opinions
about the coins if asked and he gets back to you very quickly. If a slab is PCGS AU50...he'll tell
you what it really is in ICCS.

Good Morning Danlos and Happy New Year! When I saw the location of the buyer in Friday's auction I knew it was you banking away at the Vic's. You did well with the Anacs misattributed 1871 half. I can't understand why Eric never saw that. I noticed it 2 weeks ago and was about to outbid you on it, however, my budget only allowed me one high end piece, so I stuck to the original game plan and went for the AU-58 1872 half.
I couldn't believe how cheap the MS-62, 1872H half sold for, had I have known that, I would have taken a shot at it, but I had already won the AU-58. The 1900 half you won is awesome and has great eye appeal, you did well there. What ever you don't leak out how scarce Vicy's and Edy's are, if more people catch on, they will get harder to come by!
