Found this damaged 1981 Lincoln Penny. At first I thought it was post mint damage, but after a closer look the strike marks that you see match up and are the same on both sides. There is also some rim damage. Have no idea what at the mint could have caused this. Opinions?

You were right with your first impression. It is a damaged coin. This is not a mint error of any kind.

That is odd but coppercoins is an expert so . Besides -- I can't imagine what could have happened at the mint to make those kind of lines.
