HAHA....and I have to look at the pictures to see if they are shiny (bullion) or not (SP)!

Sometimes you see the bullion (shiny) picture next to the SP price....

Yeah, the bullion vs. uncirculated distinction can definitely can be confusing if you're not familiar with the product, and not just for buyers. Sellers get it wrong too (sometimes honestly even!) and that confusion just emphasizes the whole caveat emptor thing that we're always preaching about here. Or at least I am.

Do your research before you buy.

And to circle back to the original intent for this thread, I did end up buying NP-8. And now that silver is on the rise I think I'll buy NP-9 before they raise the price....at only $8.75/oz over spot.

Interestingly, that's almost exactly the premium we paid (in late April of 2011) for NP1 from the U.S. Mint.

Strange. I looked all over the site for the Vicksburg 5-oz UNC, but it wasn't listed. I finally did a search for "NP9" and and it came up but was listed as "backordered". I added to my cart and it accepted my order all the way through.

None of the other available (i.e., not sold out) 5-oz UNC ATBs are backordered. I wonder what's going on here (if anything).

If silver goes up another dollar or two, the price will probably be adjusted back to $229.95. At least we had a buying opportunity at $204.95 for at least a month. NP9 was backordered from the first day, not sure if they sent out any yet.
