GR58: Those are fine choices! I hope you are getting them for a good price. Keep in mind that the most frequently seen coins in those mixed silver bins will be stuff from the 1940's carried home by wartime service folks. Thus very common, and should be purchased with an eye for problem free, high quality.

Please don't make it another 'top twelve' or 'top' anything; it's just too hard to choose an order. Best order i-m-o would be one day for each year, like Moe's threads. I like the idea but it takes sooo much time to do all the photo taking, so my participation might be spotty. I'm pretty sure I have at least one coin for every year of that century. Few, however, are photographed.

I understand about getting better quality. I just wanted to get a few today, so I picked out those six for $37.00

I think that is below silver, but will have to do the math on them.

As for a thread for 19th century .. I might have to buy a few more to have some favorites ... that I have not posted

There is that coin show I am going to tomorrow

A 40mm 1970 low mintage silver proof from 'Ecuatorial' Guinea, featuring Goya's controversial masterpiece. What's not to love? If this specimen does not open your jaded numismatic eyes to the possibilities awaiting a journey to lands beyond our own, I'm afraid you might be better suited to collecting beanie babies or salt&pepper shakers or -ack- those dull ubiquitous coppers that have such an obsessive following. No offense to those who adore 'em, but as for me, if I've seen one S-VDB, I have seen them all.

It is in nice condition have similar one speaking of that I am going to post this one for today's coin
