when that was made, the tolerances were quite big, but I do agree it looks different. Comparing to the picture CCF shows, the lettering look smaller and closer to the rim. Liberty's head seems a little out of place.

I have to agree that this coin does not look right. First of all, I think this coin is mislabeled as a dime. If it were a dime the coin would be around the width of a finger but this coin is about two fingers wide which leads me to believe that is half dollar size or dollar sized. My feeling it is dollar sized. If you try to attribute it as a dollar, you will find that the date position does not match any of the known positions. If it is a half dollar, you would have a a 6 figure rarity. Also given that the seller is in Asia would alone make me suspicious. My feeling is that this coin is more likely modern than contemporary but I am not an expert in contemporary counterfeits.

Modern counterfoot, "New in box". Asian seller Most FB for under-$10 items? No way. VG? More like xf. Why wouldn't the seller get it TPG and sell if for a dozen-50 times the current bid? Oh, I forget, TPG don't grade fakes.

Quote: I don't know about this is coin, but I know this coin very old and no fake If it were real, who owns a coin like that and doesn't know anything about it. And I think he wrote that statement because he knows it's fake. wow. But hey, at least he offers a return policy!

True, him being from asia just completely gives it away. I didn't look at the location for some reason...
I love when they pretend to be a 'coin shop in thailand' or something. I wonder how many of those actually exist, as in legitimate ones.

This is a contemporary counterfeit coin. Made to deceive shop keepers not Coin collectors. The maker of this coin risked Hanging for his efforts. It should still apply to fake coin Makers oops forgot pic's

Not contemporary, this is a modern fake and the reverse is that of a 1796 B-1 dollar.

Definitely a fake. The seller is a dead givaway (low feedback, located in Asia) and the coins appearance is suspicious. The sizing looks off as well considering these coins were only 19mm in diameter.
