Anyone have any ideas or opinions on this penny? This is my first time posting pictures, so hopefully I do it right. (Please excuse the white specks from the cardboard holders.)

After researching a coin I had found the other day I think it would be safe for me to say that it is a lamination error.

The photos are very good for a 1 poster. The coin has what ia called lamination http://www.coincommunity.com/dictio.../coins_l.asp. as well as areas where the metal has completely fallen off. This should give the coin some extra value but I have no idea how much.

Thank you very much for your response. I have another penny and a nickel to post that may be the same classification.

The other looks like struck through die cap and a lamination error.

The first coin does have a lamination. The second coin is damaged, it would be a " Dryer Coin" like the ones in your other post. It got stuck in the fin of a commercial clothes dryer and repeatedly tumbled against the steel drum. The banging and rolling action causes the rims to fold over onto the faces of the coin and an overall flattening of the coin's detail.

Here's my thought, 1st coin is a nice lamination and the 2nd coin looks like it has glue on it. EDIT: Just checked your other post and now I think it's a Dryer Coin not glue.
