Quote: I like that crack on obverse of the 18 D. I had never noticed! Cool!

It looks like several of us collected our Mercs from circulation a long time ago. Quote: Yours look like mine and the fact that you found yours in circulation attests to your savvy as a young boy. I smiled when I read muddler's quote to jeffrose. For a moment I also gave myself credit for being a savvy 10 year old and doing the same. Then I remembered that as an early 1950s Yankees fan I had several Mickey Mantle rookie cards and somehow they got tossed as my family moved so many times. Here are my 1918s 1918D 1918S

My Dad hated the Yankees and put the Mickey Mantles in the spokes of his bike. He had a bunch of Al Kaline cards though, and his mother was the one responsible for getting rid of those. But I do have a few of his Mercury dimes coming up later...

The 1918 P has this round toning I like, but not the scratches now that I have enlarge the image on the obverse! 1918 D with a Cud on the reverse at 2 PM. This is the first 1918 S I got when I started the series. I have since upgraded but felt in need of keeping it.
