I like it. White space would be nice if the design of the coin was different. As it is, your eyes are drawn to bear anyways (a nice touch too, having the bear floating twice over, on top of the water and towards the top of the coin itself. This as oppose to the dead centering that is common in virtually all coins) so filling in the spot to the left is not obtrusive. Neither is the font. Simple, thin, sans serif, and not distracting.
Will try to get my hands on as many as I can. Hopefully it'll look as good in real life!

@Ugly: I have seen lots of time the font different from the image the RCM uses to sell the coin verses the actual coin (I don't understand why the RCM uses a "mock-up" image of the coin instead of a picture of the actual coin they sell?). I didn't think the 20 dollars was out of line compared to other coins I see flipping though the Canadian Coins Volume 2 book. That said, now that you mention it, I do wish the image of the polar bear took up the whole side of the coin - but overall I find the pose and coin unique, fresh, modern and balanced. Speaking of the Canadian Coins book... maybe C_C will post up the images of the bears done so far... I know I have seen him post that image a few times before elsewhere.

@Poboxw: If you know a way to get more than 3 PM me. I would like to give a few away as gifts. And I'm hoping it looks BETTER in real life! The Canoe I thought looked better in hand than the RCM showed on their website. I'm just happy the image is as nice as it is. In the other thread someone said it was "cute" which had me worried it would be stylized or poorly drawn, but the portions on the polar bear turned out great.

The artist captured the animal in a very convincing way. With a unique viewpoint, this coin certainly drew my attention. As NCLT, I can't see anything wrong with it. Mintage is adequate, considering the previous releases. $20 for $20, fine silver. What more to say? Good deal. Realpenny, here are the polar designs so far:

For those that don't know the Ursus Americanus is the Black Bear, thanks for posting that one Silverbug.
Content is great on the coin, much like the last $20 it changes your perspective, elements showing life above water and below water. Sure the balance of the text could have been a little more understated though my eye did go to the bear and stayed on it to inspect the elements of the animal longer than the text.
Interesting where they decided to put the bear, on the edge of the coin, much like an animal on the edge of the world.

Not a great picture, but here is the previous Canada issue of a swimming polar bear. 1990 Platinum 1/10oz $30.00 coin. I am very excited for this new $20 design.

Anyone have any predictions how fast it will sell out. I will guess 32 days for this one.

RogerD. for those complaining about the space, you have to count in the size of this coin, those 9999 are barely readable already:D. here is the 2003 canada day bear

Thanks for the banner SilverBug!
@PlatinumDuck Too bad that platinum coins have gone underground (ie. unnoticed), I haven't seen any of the platinum coins.

@Silverbug: I like the black bear cubs. It's the only coin with blackies that I know of.
@PlatinumDuck: You really do like platinum! Is there a big premuim on the Robert Bateman coins? Do you have the other 3 in the series? I love the Harlequin you use as your avatar.
@C_C: I am sure you know, but the $3 dollar conservation wildlife series 2010 had a stylized polar bear that is missing on your themed list. And, if you wanted, there is the palladium $50 big and little bear constellations 2006, with four coins. I also like the $8 grizzly coin, but can't figure out why there is an 8 on the gizzly's rear leg?
