I watch the roll auctions for fun, and occasionally print one off to show to my Grandpa, hundreds of dollars for a roll of pennies, it is amazing. I think all you need is a couple of straw buyers and anyone can get into selling unsearched rolls of pennies on ebay. It's not really a scam, it's legitimate, like the banking ponzi derivate scam, social networks, RE bubble, taxes, you know .. things that seem cool and necessary, yet all they do is slowly suck the life out of you. STILL, you will see many of these roll auctions end up going for the price of the best coin in the roll, which incidentally is always obverse on the end of the roll.

It may be a legitimate sale on ebay, but it's NOT ethical and it is not in the standards of the ANA, PNG or any other legitimate numismatic organization, and certainly not something I would associate myself with!

Why bother with ebay as long as you have access to rolled coin at the bank or credit union? If you do not I understand.

Where do you bank that you can buy rolls of wheat cents?
