AZTAMT , nice collection, the notgeld are always interesting and not too expensive to collect.
CB , nice eye appeal , nicely centered , sharp corners, do you know why it didn't grade higher ?

There are a few demerits keeping it from Choice Unc. For example, you can see a couple of flicks along the top border (They are more prominent on the back). My '37 $2 on the other hand, I think should be Unc-60.

There is a huge difference using PMG vs. BCS.
Last year I sent a $1000 bird note to BCS expecting to get at least choice but it came back AU58, like your $2. I had a few chartered notes going to PMG so I cut the BCS holder and submitted it to PMG. It came back Gem 66, don't think PMG cares about flick marks on the corners :).
I recently cut out 7 BCS notes in grades of AU50, AU58 and UNC60, all 1937 issue and sent them to CCCS. I don't have the results yet but am curious to see if they grade similarly.

I personally stay away from PMG for that reason. They don't grade Canadian notes using Canadian standards.
I would be curious to see the CCCS results though.

I should be getting them back soon, I'll post the results...I kept the BCS tops I cut off to compare. I just looked at the BCS tops again, apparently I sent in 4 1937 and 3 1954s + a handful of chartered notes. Great memory, kind of short though!

Those are some remarkable differences in grades....All nice bills though. I presume the CCCS holder is similar to the BCS holder? or not? It's difficult to see if the bill is in an insert or not.

Hi tripoli
CCCS holders are not very rigid and don't use inserts. Pics aren't the greatest, was just trying to show the grading info mostly. :)
I thought the KG$5 note was going to come back UNC, lol. Maybe I should send it off to PMG next!

Your welcome! I really should build a light box so I can learn a bit more about grading notes. I have quite a few BCS UNC graded notes in the multi-coloured and bird series and suspect PMG would turn choice into gem and CCCS might give a few points in our favour. More testing required for circulated notes. Buyer beware I guess.
