I won this coin at an auction. It was in a lot with several other coins. I don't know anything about ancient roman coins, so any info or history y'all could give me on this coin would be great. Thanks.
Sorry for the reflection in the hair of the first coin.

Your coin appears to be a modern base metal copy/imitation of a Gold Stater of Philip II of Macedonia.

Obv. Laureate head of Apollo r.
Rev. Charioteer driving fast biga r. holding reins in l. hand and goad in r., trident below and ΦIΛIΠΠOY in ex.

Regards,
Martin

Actually, I have a gold stater of Philip 11 of Macedon. (Came from Spink's London, in 1979.)

I also have a bronze hemi obol of Macedon as well.
The obverse type is the same, the reverse type looks similar, but it IS different.
The reverse type is of a naked youth riding a prancing horse right (on my coin).

My coin is in about the same condition as the one pictured, and I paid AU$24 for it, in 1988.

I suspected the date was completely off--it looks nothing like a late Roman coin.
Is there any chance it's a genuine bronze hemi obol? Larger pics would help.

The AE coins do nor have the biga reverse. They have the yout on horse left or right type.

This reverse is from the gold stater and thus not seen on AE types as far as I am aware.
