These two arrived today. I've been looking for an example of Fuld-179 for a while. I'm happy with this one.

This is a recent pickup from my local shop's bid board. It was attributed as Fuld# B30N-2A, would that be correct? Also, what kind of value would you guys place on this store card?

@Biokemist6 - Your specimen is a Fuld NY630N-4a. It is rated as an R-2.

Looks to be at least MS-64 to me.

What kind of value are you asking for? Dealer/trade, or retail?

Thanks CheetahCats, I now see that the B was just a sloppy 6. Is the 4a an indicator of die state? Giving a rough retail value would be fine, I paid $32 for this one without knowing anything about it. Not a gamble I would normally take but I though the shattered die really upped the coolness factor of it.

4a is an indicator of the particular M.S. Brown variety. If you look closely, the 'M' in "M.S." is an overstrike of what was originally a 'W'.

Is the specimen slabbed? I ask because it will influence price. If so, what does the slab give as per grade?

Interesting, I though the M was just distorted from the die cracking. This store card was purchased raw.

$32 is a very fair price that you paid.

Congrats!

Henry, you lucky dog! I always loved this one for being the most blatantly extreme of the patriotic tokens. And a dollar?! In that condition!? Where are you shopping?
