I just took out a box of world coins that I bought about 5 years ago from an engineer guy who travelled the world for nearly 40 years and kept his pocket change. I convinced him to sell me those coins during a conversation that I was having with him at the Ottawa mint. I had started sorting those coins a few years ago but stopped because I did not really have time. I am mainly into Canada and United States coins. These are really nice coins that are the same as when I bought them. Most are in the same plastic bags as I received them. I just weighed the lot and they weigh approximately 5 pounds. Since I will never do anything with these coin, what would you suggest that I do with them?

Donate them to a local coin club or boy/girl scouts. You need more post to B/S/T here.

Thank you for your suggestions. I may trade them or sell them when I have enough posts or I may consider ebay. I need to recover my initial investment if I can. After 3 strokes, I am disabled and on a very low pension. I do things related to coins to keep busy since I only get out of the house once or twice each month.

Well, if you have time, you should get a Krause world coin catalog, and look for those and get their estimated price.
That way you'll sell them properly (at a reasonable price) if that's what you want to do.
You can start sorting them by country without a catalog though :)

I would love to have a box of world coins to go through

Consider ebay, but since you've waited a long time already, consider posting here when you get enough posts...
