Dear Friends,I found a 1970 s Penny that shows a lot of Doubling in DATE and FACE.I know, its not the Greatest pic,dim,lighting...I get a better pic soon. But what your thoughts on it of what you can see.PGCS reports only around 30-or so, ever found that are True DDO's.Here...

1.Eye Brows are THICK
2.Date and Mint Mark shows DDO Qualities!
3.On the Left side Jacket shows another LINE.

1970-S-DDO?-New-Varaiety!

God Bless
Beck

PS:If you Download the pic to your PAINT program in Windows XP its shows a whole lot of more light and Clearer images, for now.

Image too dark to tell. But the 1968-1971 cents were very common on them to have Machine Doubling. Die movment during the strike that is flat and shelf like. When you mention doubling on the profile, that is Machine Doubling. It occurs from the damaging of the coin's devices during the strike. Here are a few examples:

On a Doubled die the devices are rounded. Not flat, shelf like:

Note The enlargement of the devices when compared with another normal coin:

Machine Doubling reduces/damages/pushes the devices (Note the first image of the 1980, then compare with next link?):

A doubled die enlarges the devices:

Thanks a lot for your images.I know the pic is not good enough to tell whether its a DDO or not...Although I got really lucky on the FACE doubling EARS,Eyebrows, etc even the NOSE has a extension.
I just found someone who can help me to get some really nice pictures of the 1970 s and they'll be up a few days...Thanks again for the Pictures about the Machine Doubling and the REAL doubling. They helped me a Whole lot as I have 1958 DDR I am looking at..God Bless!
