Hey Guys, here some snaps of my latest acquisition.

1923-Half-Penny

1923-Half-Penny

Just curious about grading on this one, I'm tentatively leaning towards VF.

Cheers

I would agree with your assessment of VF. It is a very nice example - nice toning, decent rims and a detailed band with full centre diamond but fused or faint pearls.

I always look for die cracks through the lettering with these. Most '23's have them. Their presence helps to confirm that they are genuine.

Nice long die crack running along the top of TRALIA & continues out from the A.
Is there also a light die crack running through the bottom of REX F.D.IND.I ?
Agree with the VF grade, nice coin.

Based on what I see--it looks like a solid VF to me too--very nice coin!

VF (Obverse) / F (Reverse), dent at 3 o'clock, has been cleaned in the past, I would say at auction (if genuine, I really need an expert to view 1923 and 1930 coins) this coin would be estimated at $1,200-1,500.

It was bought online from a well established dealer so I have faith that its the real deal, yip paid towards the higher end of that estimate which I think was fair. One of those coins you just have to have.
