Has anyone ever attempted such a feat?
I'm not sure why but the toned IHP's have really beautiful eye appeal most of the time IMO.

I would think a complete set in MS grades would be more fun and a bigger challenge. MS-65 and up of course.

I think it would be cool to do it.
I have a gap in my Canadian nickel collection that isn't MS. 1970-1979 in EF-AU but nicely toned, from tons of rolls when I went thought them. The 1970 isn't as deeply toned as the others. It was hard to get a matched look.

That would be a challenge! I have quite a few toned ones. Building my set in EF-AU plus has me pulling my hair out!

I am not sure if anyone has but that would be one heck of a collection. I agree with you that a nicely toned Indian cent is a sight to behold especially some of the blue toned ones.  |

I once saw a set of toned proof Indian Head cents. Perhaps someone knows more than I do about these, but it seems like the proof Indian Head cents tone into many different colors. I don't remember seeing many red ones. |

I was sad to find that while PCGS' set registry has "colorless" sets for the IHP, there are no toned sets. Boo. I checked out the proof sets too and most of them are colorless.
Maybe twenty years from now I'll give it a go. :D

"Brown" and "Red & Brown" are actually toning on copper cents, you know... But I know what you mean with the iridescent blues, greens and purples that are found on some MS and high grade circulated cents.
