That's so right, nancyc, there is not much you get to do in order to get the coin stamped; just press the green button when the guy tells you to. He does all the work on his side. I wonder when some enterprising metalworker will make some dies so as to stamp out fake conterstamps in a shed. Doesn't seem too much to it. Actually, is there a safety lock or something on his side of the press? When he's putting the coin into the machine, what would happen if someone on the other side presses too soon? Could you then get a coin with a fingertip counterstamp?

Im sure the RAM worker would have to activate the machine before the button works otherwise like youve said you might get a struck through finger error. I have heard a story of one of the coins in the mobile press being miss struck. The mint worker wouldnt let them keep it of course. If they had it would be one unique error coin.

Oh, I found this special $1 counterstamp in yesterday's bag. Looks like it has come out of the same shed as Australian Coin's 'S' version back on page 11 of this thread

Haha it's a no2. Whish I knew what they were supposed to mean. At first I thought they were pokies coins. I think my one even had the traditional grey lead ring around it, but maybe its like when we used to put "x" on $2 coins to see if you would get them back.

Thanks for that, tpp
The pics remind me of the natty latex fingertip protectors the guy was wearing at the Caulfield ANDA show, and how the coins are arranged in the plastic rather like a selection of chocolates...

Nice find Gizmo
Its a first prefix and a low number. Shame about condition.
Also I think it may be called a Binary note due to just 1's and 0's.
I have been looking for one but no luck as yet.
