Finally filtered through 4.5kg of 1 & 2 cent pieces. Took a while. They were from three sources & had been sitting around for a long time. I'm finally getting onto releasing some of my items for my 2013 resolution...sell, sell, sell followed by buy. If I can do that all year, I'll have one third less!

Anyways;
I found 4 x 1968 2c
& also found 7 x 1968 1c
A decent score for a few hours.

Anyone interested in 4.5kg's of 1&2c coppers?

I went to the bank today and asked if they has any round 50c coins and they reached into the draw and pulled out 10!

They said I could have them for $5(50c each)

Some are not in great condition but for 50c I am happy.

Try some acetone on those rounds. You might be surprised how well some will come up.

Anyway, you have about $10 worth of silver in each coin!

Fair dinkum flippy, that's unreal. I would have assumed (obviously incorrectly) that the people in the banks would be keeping them for themselves or their friends.

Ask and you shall receive eh!

Hi Everyone, I finally get to contribute to this thread,
I am thinking beginners luck as I have only started noodling and lucky to come across a Wavy 2. Happy to say this has motivated me to keep up the search

Any help in grading would be appreciated as I'm not up to the specifics yet.

Matt
What a coincidence - my first find upon commencing "noodling" was also a 1966 wavy
Since that time I have found a number of other variety coins. But no second wavy ....

Welcome to the forum Matt and that find is a good welcome to noodling.
Looks like the real deal and not bad condition for a 1966 coin.

I'm using an iPhone camera and id doesn't really do justice on the zoom. I've zoomed in the best I can on the 2, from a top down view, the Wavy line is more prominent when viewing from a slight angle

Noodling through $1 coins last night.
FINALLY found a 1997 Smithy in near uncirculated condition.
These coins are so rare to find in good condition, so I was stoked
Upstart of it all was that this coin was at the end of the Armaguard roll - remarkable .

To top it all off, I also found a coin with nice "lamination / planchet flaw"

Pic attached
