The 1984 $1 seem to turn up in prety good nick sometimes. Its a nice change to the usual banged up rubbish. I think everyone saved a couple when they first came out and they have since spend them.

... a "bittersweet experience" at the bank today. From a number of 50 cent rolls I espied the "jackpot" . My third incuse millennium coin . But my excitement was somewhat tempered by the scratchings left by the coin "rock and roller" machine What are the chances of a second "unscratched - incuse" inside the roll ? Squire

Squire, such a shame! Fingers crossed, though the odds are against you My repeated thoughts on rollers You'd think with all the efforts made by the RAM to produce quality coins that they'd ban the use of wretched rollers!

Whats on te other end? I reckon people would bid hard on that roll on ebay even though there only 0.00001% chance of there being another one in there. I got some $2 rolls of 5c coins today. Got $200 (100 rolls). Found a 1972 in the very first roll and then nothinf until the 4th to last roll when I struck another one. Only got 2 1972s so not overly sucessful but theyll be added to the pile all the same.

Thanks for the good advice enworb, and for your positive feedback "The Unicorn". Hopefully I have now appeased the evil god of "coin rock and roll machines" , so that when I make my next "discovery" it will be from the clean centre of a roll. The roll is at my place at the moment, and I am back at work - arvo tea time at the moment. Will look at it from the "other side" tonight. If it has Her Majesty's profile with date 2000, the roll will remain unbroken. Otherwise it is going to be very hard to resist the temptation to inspect the content of yon roll Squire

Had a careful think about unwrapping the "incuse millenium" coin roll last night . Actually, I also have an interest in collecting postage stamps. There are lots of anecdotes of people removing stamps from the envelopes to "fit" into their collection. In the process, the collection can lose a lot of value . Certainly, this "incuse millenium" roll is unique, whereas the single coin is not. And the possibility of a second "incuse" coin in the roll is an intriguing question . I was impressed by Enworb's suggestion; to put the roll on ebay. So I shall give the roll to a good friend as a present. This friend is very experienced in ebay dealings . Squire

Announcing a dual semi-radar, semi-repeater. Yes, it's an almost note! The first prefix AA07 I got was a definite keeper though

Hi Goatieman23, sorry about the delay in thanking you for the extra coins - work, life, family etc sometimes rudely intrudes into my coin habit time. (To make sense of this post, other forum readers may need to refer back to an earlier post in this thread about bulk one and Two Cent coins for sale.) I haven't had time for much of a noodle through them yet and hope to get through them over the weekend. Just on opening them, there seems to be quite a few with verdigris, but I am hopeful that the many unaffected coins will fill the slots in my collection. Thanks. PS re the extra coins, now I am not only having to contain my foreign coin interest, but also have to rein in a budding interest in predecimal coins ...

Go to your bank and ask. Depends how much you need as to whether or not you need to order. I would say under $500 should be fine.
I hardly ever order anymore but for a while I was noodling thousands of dollars of silver coins each week and needed to order them in.

... did quite a bit of "noodling" over the Australia Day long weekend. 20 cents, 50 cents and 1 dollar rolls. Not too much luck until the last 1 dollar roll last night. Found a 2005 Gallipoli 90th anniversary coin (pic attached below). Closer inspection revealed a "C" mint-mark. According to McDonald (2012) 88,424 coins were produced with this mint-mark. According to this reference, this coin is classified "Circulation / Mint Set". Were a proportion of these coins put into circulation ?. Squire
