Wow! Thanks Nancy, I didn't even see the die cracks, I was just happy with the Cud! :) I picked up a well struck one, also at the casino, and have compared the two. I can confirm 4 die cracks under magnification (the three you found), there is another on the point opposite the roo's butt.

Noodling's a funny game. Some weeks you don't find much, most weeks are about average and, some weeks..... (from $400 of 50¢ searched tonight) Drum roll please, I am very happy with the 1985. Thank you Armaguard and Westpac.Quote: You're a tinny bugger, Jeff. I know you put in the hours though, so well done! There, you don't have to repeat yourself Nancy. Jeff

I found a split 50c today! The spilt goes through 4 of the flat sides and is faintly visible on one more flat each side of the split. There is damage on the edge near the worst part of the split, so I think that the flaw was there and something damaged the coin and made the spilt appear.

... I suppose this post is more along the lines "summary of noodling finds". Please let me know if this is not in the correct topic and I will shift it . Last night I was re-organizing my noodled collection. I have a lot of "road kill" and also "foreign coins" from my findings and my old album was feeling distinctly "overweight". Now I have one album for "road kill / foreign coins", the other for the "good stuff". Looking at my 1 dollar coins, I thought I would take a photo and show everyone what can be achieved if you keep replacing your existing coins with coins in better condition during successive noodling sessions. Quite a few of the coins are in "near uncirculated" condition now, with that lovely "cartwheel lustre" . The page really "glows" when you open it up !. I wonder what a "near-uncirculated" collection would be worth ?. The cost of this display is $17 !. Squire

Thanks "The Unicorn" What inspired me to present this "coin essay" was the idea that noodling can produce some "side benefits". Even if recent noodling sessions have not produced a $1/10 cent "mule", 20 cent "wavy", or a 50 cent "incuse" etc. it is still possible to improve your collection with ordinary coins. By striving always to improve the quality of the coins, you will be on your way to create a "wow" page in your album !. Squire PS. my recent noodling has not produced much , so I also needed this consolation !.

Two different sized Reverses exist, large and small. In these images the large is on the left, small on the right. $1 2003 Suff Lge Sml Reverse Duo V1 $1 2003 Suff Lge Sml Reverse Duo V2

I used to think they were about 50 - 50, but the last time I was looking at mine, I realised I had waaaay more of one type than the other, but I did not make a note of which was which. I'll have to check them out again sometime.

Thanks for the positive feedback . Also for reminding me of the two types of suffrage coins. Actually, I have not included my NCLT 1 dollar coins in the photo. These are in my separate "precious" album, also containing 1966 wavy, 2000 incuse, 1925 penny etc . Squire
