These are still to be found...though there's one less out there now
Picked it up today out of an Armaguard bag from CBA Forest Hill
Nice example, without any bad dings or scrape marks

Gee, that dollar is over a thousand years old..
Didn't know dollars were around in the year 200

With the double-bar 50 cent, I have found the 1979 is much harder to find in anything approaching decent condition: the way it's going, I may need to resort to ebay

What else is on your list, BTW?

An incuse, a decent priest's robe's Cud, and all of the federations. I only have NSW & SA so far. But I have found a few windmills, and a few 2000 royal visits.

A bot boring, I guess, but the small country town banks are yielding older dollar coins in quite a reasonable condition. Pity about the "pockmarks" on the obverse, it would otherwise be a extremely nice coin for being 12 years old. Nonetheless, it is an upgrade for my circulated coin collection.

Just went through the 50cents that I pulled from the week's noodle. Might have picked up a couple of variations of the Melbourne Commonwealth games :

Literally first handful out of first bag from today's lot (1000 x$1; $400 x 50c; $200 x 20c).....

A 2011 NCLT - Dame Joan Sutherland

Already better than the last lot of Dollars I had!

...well done pennydreadful
And good luck with the rest of your substantial haul.
I am going through a more modest $170 worth of 50 cents over the weekend.
If I find anything worthwhile I will post it here.

1985 is, by far, the hardest circulation 50¢ to find. So, it is quite a thrill to find a very nice one.
Some slight wear and tear but...so shiny! It hasn't seen the light of day too often -I wonder if it might be a refugee from a mint set.

Also found a better than usual 1991 "ramshead" in the same lot.

Yep, that's a goodie all right...
50's cop an awful hammering in circulation, so it is nice to see this one now in comfortable retirement

I had 2x $200 bags of 50 cents (800 coins) and I found only 3 Federations - and all banged up...I'd say grab 'em whenever you can.
Weird thing was that a LOT of very nice 1970s coins were in there, and 4 spanking-new 1988 Bicents., plus 3 gleaming Millenniums, and a 1991 Ram
Best was a very nice 1979 D Bar, one I've been chasing for a while
Someone must've had a stash of 50s tucked away for a while...
Wondering how is the best to clean some of them up; a lot have a lovely tone to them, but are slightly dirty - not grubby as such, but sort of coated.
Obviously, bare minimal cleaning is my ideal, and want to get it right first time
