In my case 65,000 coins, or thereabouts. I have seen reports elsewhere ranging from 45,000 to nearly 105,000 before one is found.
Regardless of the number that makes it a very hard to find coin.

Great find Jeff!
May I ask the general location this came about?
Yet to find any good $1's .. although the 50's tend to provide some good finds in sydney.

Hi Matt,
I am in Gulgong, NSW. Most of the $1 coins I get for noodling are from the collection of the washing machines at the local laundromat and the caravan park laundry.
As a result many have bad stains and deposits of blue/green scum -laundry detergent is rather savage. A soak in warm water, followed by acetone usually helps.

Hey everyone, it's my first post but I've been following the forum for a while, anyway, just recently started noodling through coin boxes around the house, and thought I would share some of the finds (I'm not 100% if all of them are really rare or anything, but I'm happy with them!)

Found this little fella thought you might find it interesting. What is the rough value of these types of errors?
