Nice find Robbo. Well done.
I have found a similar one a while back.
Not sure what it is worth.

...having been very busy at work , and trying to wrap up a very successful 2014 , my noodling has taken a "back seat" lately .
However, I am still beavering away at this and just yesterday I came up with my first 50 cent NCLT coin, pic below.

Recently received in change at a coffee shop at Kotara NSW

2012 Southern Corroboree Frog

Unfortunately he's been a little damaged in his journey. As the coin is normally only issued in a capsule snapped into a collector card for $15 I have to guess this little guy was stolen from somewhere.

Worth keeping or, what would he fetch on ebay?

Soak in acetone and call it an error

Only kidding, for me I'd only keep til I got another in better condition to replace it

I think it would be unlikely another would turn up in change, unless more were stolen.
As far as I know they were, and still are, only available for $15 (in a blister card).

Of course, I could always experiment with a paint job

Hey everyone,

This is a list of all my not meant for circulation coins that I have In my circulated collection.

Most I have found, some I have bought. It just seems like so many have been taken out of their original packaging... Such a shame :(. Especially the waltzing Matilda and Kingsford Smith B editions, was there by any chance a small number of these intentionally put in to circulation by the mint?

1987 Roos x 1
1992 Barcelona x 3
1993 Landcare C x 5, M x 1, S x 3 = 9
1994 Decade C x 3, M x 1 = 4
1995 Matilda C x 9, S x 3, B x 1 = 13
1996 Parkes C x 3
1997 Kingsford C x 3, S x 4 = 7
1998 Florey C x 4, S x 1, B x 1 = 6
1999 Anzacs C x 2, A x 1 = 3
2000 Mule x 1
2000 HMAS C x 4
2001 Army x 2
2001 Air Force x 1
2002 Outback C x 1
2004 Eureka C x 1
2005 Gallipoli C x 3

Hey Fellas, new to forum, started noodling today, I went to the bank and got $50 bags of $1, 50c, 20c.

Nothing much to report on the $1, when I did the 50c bag though I found most of them were silver jubilees, quite strange that they were sorted like this, what do you guys think happened?

50c Results
80x 1977 Silver Jubilee
4x 1981 Royal Weddings
5x 1991 Ram (2 of which are just spotless)
4x 1988 First Fleet
4x 1970 Captain Cook
3x COA

A bit annoying those jubilees, but at least I can pick the best and try again tomorrow :)

Will report back if the 20c turn up anything special.

Look forward to my stay here.

EDIT: Oops a bag full of 20 more jubs was hiding in the 20s so picture only shows 60/80 Jubs

I'd guess someone had a hoard of comms , cashed them in and you got the bags from the same bank.
Where they in rolls/ security bag or just in zip lock bank bags

busy, busy start to 2015 at work

In the evenings I relax a bit by noodling through bank rolls. Keeps me "grounded"

Here is one of my recent finds, from a $1 coin roll. This 1998 coin celebrates the Centenary of the birth of Howard Florey, one of the co-discoverers of Penicillin, and the first to make a useful and effective amount of the drug. The coin has an "A" for the Adelaide privy mark - very appropriate as Howard Florey was born there ...
