Quote: A $100 FRN with letter district indicator and "redeemable in gold" obligation. I already had an example but it was a DGS; this is my first LGS of any denomination. Outstanding!

I've added a couple more FRNs with letter district indicator and "Redeemable in Gold" obligation. The last one I need, the $20 note, is on the way to me now.

A random assortment of notes arrived today. The first is a 1928A $1 Silver Certificate. This is an experimental note from the XB block (I already have examples from the YB and ZB blocks). The next is another FRN with "Redeemable in Gold" obligation, this time a $20 1928B DGS. Lastly, an addition to my Confederate note type set which has probably been feeling a bit neglected of late, a T-10/PF-16 $10 note. While a low grade, the note has complete borders and looked quite decent. Even with the numerous heavy folds, there aren't any pinholes or small internal tears like I often find on lower-graded notes.

I just received this $100 Confederate note, T-5/PF-1, series of 1861. This type only had 5798 notes issued in total and is given an R-6 by Pierre Fricke on his 16-point rarity scale, with R-6 being an estimated population of 501-1000 known. This note is much more common than types T-1, T-2, T-3, T-4, T-27 and T-35, which Fricke refers to as the "Big 6" for a CSA type set. Each of those six have fewer than 200 known examples per type. Interestingly enough notes T-27 and T-35 had more notes issued per type than T-5, but they had a significantly lower survival rate. This example is problem-free and has complete front borders, and I'm very pleased with being able to add it to my CSA type set.
