Attached are scans of the Egypt silver pound issued in 1982 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the state airline Egyptair.
Browsing through a copy of the EgyptAir in-flight magazine "Horus" during a flight of theirs in 1984 I noticed, among the usual list of duty free items on sale one simply marked "Commemorative One Pound Coin". On asking the flight attendant if they had any he simply replied "No have". I can only presume that the item in question was the EgyptAir commemorative piece.
Can anyone verify whether this piece was atruck for sale on EgyptAir flights? It would sound logical given the duty free item and the subject matter of the coin.
