1941 D Nickel - Strike Through Wire?

Or maybe this nickel just got a really good long scratch early in its life. Opinion?

I guess if you are going to estimate the grade of the coin you need the obverse image, too.

As for the scratch, that's what it is...from top to bottom. I can tell because of the flange of metal hanging off the bottom of the steps. That's displaced metal from the scratch.

Regarding the grade - dunno, I don't grade circ Jeffersons enough to know about them. I typically only grade MS Jeffersons.

I agree with coppercoins ,,its a scratch,, the nickel grades G-4 IMO.
