Was at the local shop and picked these 5 up for $10.00. I am new to world coins. How did I do?

Does anyone have a good site for pricing world coins?

NGC World Coin Price Guide has values straight out of the Krause catalog, check it out:http://www.ngccoin.com/poplookup/Wo...e-Guide.aspx

I think $10 was a bit pricey, but not bad. The Hong Kong 5 Cents is 80% silver and should be worth about $3-$4 in the condition it's in.

other than the silver 5cent the rest can be found in the 25cents ea / 5 for $1 bin (in one grade lower than yours).

an old time collector once told me:
"there are only 3 types of world coins to collect, #1 gold, #2 silver, #3 for fun".

dont worry too much about value, no one is going to retire on #3

If you're finding 1 Euro coins in the quarter bin, you should definitely snap those up.

This was definitely a "fun" buy:) It was the Leonardo motif with Rome mint below that caught my eye! Then I saw the silver, and then the Greeks! Who can pass up Leonardo & Homer?

BTW, thanks for all of your help!
