Wert, this phenomenon can only occur during the tiara years, (not crown), from 65 to 89, I am referring to the 2 jewels at the tippeist top of her tiara, not the ones in the hair lines. The 2 jewels should be nestled, somewhat snugly, between the prongs of the jewel setting, but the prongs are widened, and the jewels are detached from the rest of the tiara.
Best seen on your picture #4, but also can be seen on #1.
Watch that back jewel too! Although, not on this coin, it can become detached as well.
I am going to be checking my 74 and my 73 for the die cracks, and other oddities. SPP I really like that 73, that is a prominent die crack, nice one!

Wert, now that is a bit of an issue. The only detached bead that has ever been recognized, documented, or even mentioned, that I am aware of, is the 65 nickle. Maybe others can help on this as well? I have attached a link with the 65 nickle article. In any event, since that article appeared in 2007, I am keeping all coins during this era, 65-89, with any detached jewels, top or bottom. I also like the 1977 dollar -- you can get attached and detached jewels in short, full, and weak waterlines, so there's a whole whack of variety choices there.
