did anyone else get charged shipping for this? I"m a MC member and shouldn't it be free

Shipping is free for MC members, as long as you do not post MC pictures.

One year later...

Will you agree that it was worth to subscribe to it?

Except one coin (that I by mistake ordered twice from different dealers) all the coins are beautiful pieces. The box is too bulky, but in overall the collection is great.

Absolutely love the set.

Is anyone going to display with the COA showing the original artwork?
That's how I've turned my COA's in the case, to show the original artwork.

This is not just the best series from the Royal Canadian Mint in recent years, but also one of the very few series that consistently showcase the Mint's outstanding craftsmanship, quality and engraving skill, with a theme that is truly Canadian.

I know that some people are not happy with "Franz Johnston, The Guardian of the Gorge" because the "head" of the guardian is not included on the coin. But to be fair, it is a tough choice for the Mint, they can either include the head, and left out the rushing river. But to do so, the coin will just look like a quarry with a head; Or they could include the river and most of the gorge, the way the Mint has chosen , and keep the essence of Johnston's painting intact. Besides, this coin has showcase something extraordinary, the engraver is able to make the gorge stands out like 3-dimension against the river, as if the coin is high-relief, even though it is not.

I am very happy with this series, and I hope the Mint can continue making coins like these.

It's a nice set. I have one in the case and multiples of each of the coins.

Maybe not a great investment but I really like the subject and execution of this series.

Does anybody have a photo of all the coins in the case? I'd be curious to see what they look like. I didn't subscribe to this set as I came in late. Some of the individual coins look really fantastic and I bet they look even better all together

I am in complete agreement with you shopaholic!

I received the A.Y Jackson coin today and am thrilled to have the set completed.

It's truly an outstanding series and is truly a great tribute to the Group of Seven artists, while each coin is in itself a wonderful work of art.

The proof is in the photos:

NuMoosematist - Thanks so much for posting the photos of the case and coins. They do look fantastic. I especially like how the COA is above the coin in the box, and that the COA is coloured. The COAs look like they're mini paintings hung against a wall. It very much feels like you're (virtually) visiting a museum when you look at the box. It's a shame I didn't pick up one for myself. I'm envious. It's very much a showpiece case.

Very upset I was too late to get in on the subscription. The box (and your photographs) look wonderful.

Have 5 of them so far.
