so there is an estate sale I get emails from weekly and this week they have some Morgans and Peace dollars.

i would like to know how much these might be worth. I have been able to work prices down before with this guy.
i have a feeling some might be polished and wizzed. I purchased a semi key morgan from him before for $50... and it was polished to hell! but he said it was in NICE shape... so I know he doesn't know THAT MUCH about coins, only if the book says key or not... so I may get lucky..

i will call on these later and tell you what prices he wants.. based on the pictures I see

here is the emails description and pics.:

1883 CC, 1891 CC nice, 1901 O, 1928 S uncirc, 1934 P uncirc, & 1935 S nice

so I called and he said the 1883-CC was in the $90 range, the 1891-CC was in the $125 range and the 1928-S was in the $70-$80 range

the other Morgan and Peace dollars in AU/BU he said are going for $35-$40 range

what do you think? based on the mediocre pics, think I got a shot of flipping any of these?

I don't see any money to be made at those prices. However I have been looking for a 91-O in unc as an upgrade....however I can't tell if that one is an unc.

Buyer beware at these small private Estate Sales/Auctions. My experience is lots of cleaned/polished/whizzed and overpriced coins are sold this way.

I'm assuming the dollars in the $35-40 range are common dates. Based on your past experience I wouldn't be surprised if all the coins had problems. I don't see any way to make a profit & prices are too high for bullion coins.

I haven't gone to many estate sales but on my limited experience most of the coins are priced at above FMV. Looking at the two CC's, you might be lucky to just get your money back even at prices close the ones that the other silver dollars are selling for. Both of them have been cleaned and I suspect that many of the coins in the pictures may be as well.
