Picked this up from the post office today, I don't normally go for the coloured silver But I think this one deserves a place in my collection of 1oz coins.

G'day Mschipp,Very nice of someone to give them to you, there is a few nice halfpennies there. Is there a couple of mistrike threepences in the bottom row 2nd from right & 2nd from left ? or it an illusion of the pic ?

Let's just say as a total noob to this - I have no idea - can send you a higher res image if you want - ones in question are the 1943?

Its a good starters collection to build from. Lucky you.. I also think those threepence's look a little like miss strikes but it may well be the photo. Are you able to take closeups of those?

Thanks for the closer pictures. Not miss strikes but still good old Aussie silver coins.

More nice coin Did they model the reverse images from photographs? And one of the photographs was of your grandfather?

Thanks appleangel07 and enworb, now I just need to work out how to build it out some Think I will make a starting point of doing a half penny collection.

Hi enworb, Yes, they model the reverse images from photographs. I have a copy of the photo hanging up at home.
