This is the 1916 shilling I picked up last month.
Not as nice as I thought it would be
It has plenty of remaining lustre but has a lousy strike on the obverse.
It does however have a nice cud/die crack on the roo's back on the reverse however, Si I;m not totally disappointed with it.

PS. trout1105 - it still looks like a very nice 1916 shilling to me , and the " Cud" gives it character. I have read somewhere that the early threepences, sixpences and shillings sometimes had this poor strike for particular years...

Yeh its a faint die crack good spotting. I didnt noticet it until I got home with it.

Not coins but they are Australian :) I got these in a swap last week for a world coin I'd bought recently. They are the first notes I've acquired for several years.
