This we know will happen on June 7th.
The Mint website will crash
Everyone will order the household limit
The mintage will sell out and many will be disappointed
Those disappointed will log onto Coincommunity.com and cry to the other members.
Many members will boast about how easy it was to log in and complete their order to the chagrin of those left out in the cold.
Many will post in disgust that they didn't want one anyway to try to save face
Those left out in the cold will immediately start a thread tracking prices on the secondary market and try to pick a good time to buy overhyped and overpriced coins
Best of luck to those who choose to fight for their place in line on June 7th. To the victor go the spoils.

@ Andrew289: Now I want to get in all that much more. Do you write motivational speeches for a living? Let the countdown begin: 45 more days!

Merc Man,
It's the same old same old with every new mint release. Who says history never repeats itself? This way you know what to expect and there will be no surprises...lol.
If the mint made one for everyone, where would the fun be in that? Those coins wouldn't be worth collecting.
The worst thing they can do is to mint a reverse proof every year. Sure there will be the drones to buy them but look at what it does to the 2006 and 2011 issues...it makes then less special. I would never want to see that happen. The reverse proof should be used sparingly and in mintages of 100,000 or less. Otherwise it just becomes bullion and that would be a shame.

Sad but true. Hope it is not an apocalypse.

It's all in good fun, these events for collectors. I didn't bother with the A25 set that day last year, since most of coin blogs had tons of threads of people frustrated with the Mint's ordering system. Oh well c'est la vie. You know, most collectors collect for pleasure AND profit. No one realistically expects zero-sum gain for their collections when they liquidate, and as for speculators, that's what supply and demand is all about and had made America what she is today. "To the victor goes the spoils," indeed. Bring it on, June 7th.

Biggest questions IMO are:
1. Mintage? 2. Price? 3. Order Limit?
Each question affects the next and the sum of these will dictate my interest.

The three answers I hope are:
1. 200,000-250,000 sets 2. $119.95 (no point in having the the RP "cost" more than the normal 2012-S or -W proof as the striking process is the same!) 3. 2 sets per household.
Edit: 4. Will the Mint's website slow or crash on June 7th? Probably as it's still the same old ordering system and will take all afternoon to order these sets.

I totally do not want one of these. Had no desire to buy the ones from 2011. After reading Andrew's motivational speech I have now decided to do my best to order whatever limit that is set and then sell them all immediately after they sale out.

From "coin News" blog: Quote: Preliminary details provided by the US Mint indicate that the set will contain one 2012-S Proof Silver Eagle and one 2012-S Reverse Proof Silver Eagle. The first coin will be different than the standard proof version since it will carry the "S" mint mark, rather than the "W" mint mark. The second coin will feature a reverse proof finish, with mirrored raised design elements and frosted background fields, or the opposite of the standard proof finish.
Based on information posted on the US Mint's website, the 75th Anniversary San Francisco Silver Eagle Set will be released on June 7, 2012. The Mint is yet to provide information on the mintage limit, household ordering limits, or pricing.

If I play my cards right I should be able to get at least 4 times what the order limit is if not more.
