That is way cool, I so want to drive up to Atlantic city an buy a bar out of that bad boy. Too cool to know they are now two up an running inside US borders, an no better place to start then Vegas an Atlantic city eh....
With that nice (high premium) gift box it speaks of, I bet like say for example a 1 gram bar of gold will run for at least 75 bucks, esp if it is a Pamp bar for example, if not more.....

These have been in Vegas for years, and an FYI the metals in the machine carry a crazy premium. They are cool though

An early "Gold to Go" vending machine was first deployed at a mall in Boca Raton, Florida back in December 2010. CNN and other news outlets went nuts for the story. I think this first machine sold Credit Suisse gold bars and US Gold Eagles up to one troy ounce. Pretty much similar features as today: spot prices updated every 90 seconds and purchase was cash only.
Interesting concept. I do think installing in a casino was the right move. A location where money freely flows and security is ever present seems like a much safer place to get your midnight gold jones satisfied than your average mall.

That is true CW, as think about it like this.....
I have been in Vegas for 30 minutes, an already blown out, lol. Still have five hundred or so to spend that was set aside to spend (or blow most likely) gambling. Instead of giving all of it to the casino or buying Pawn stars shot glasses an junk souvs, I think I am gonna get 5 grams of gold out of this ridiculously high premium gold machine. As I would rather pay that premium an come out with something positive from the mess, then again blow the entire cash stash at the roulette table for example....
People on vacation most always have a pocket full of money ready to hand out, an over paying is usually at the back of their mind when they are in a place like that having a good time in vacation mode I figure....
It all comes down to what we are willing to pay, an obviously they are buying or the prices would not be set so high by now....

this is definitely a smart move, I went to a casino in cherokee this january and blew nearly a grand in a weekend, I was ahead at several points and would have definitely rather bought a few ounces of silver/ 1/10 ounces of gold and pocketed it at a premium instead of "oh hey what more can I gamble and try to win" and then coming out with nothing.

Ugh! Indian casinos are the worst for payouts, at least in AZ and OR. In my home state, back in the 90's, the state installed slots in our only three counties. Everything was tightly regulated. The state averaged 2-5%, I believe, after costs, so payouts were common and quite lucrative. I always set my limit at $150, which meant I sometimes only stayed 15-20 minutes before I was wiped out. But when I won... Biggest single pull payout was $6000, but I had many $600-1500 payouts. DE didn't offer the same ambiance as AC, but it seemed far fairer. The seniors certainly flocked from all across the Delmarva peninsula to visit. |

My wife likes to visit them from time to time but I don't really care for them. I like Reno and even Vegas but the local Indian casinos have such a lousy pay-off that I would rather spend the money on something that I enjoy... like the nice Acer laptop I just got.  |

When we travel, the wife and I give ourselves ridiculously low spending limits for the casinos. True, we're usually in and out pretty fast, then hit a popular show and do dinner someplace fun. Believe me, I know it's not everyone's idea of how to live large...but it works for us.  It also makes buying that shiny new lens for the camera or gadget for the computer easier to justify.  |

The 60-second updates are a meaningless gimmick when they're marking product up by 20-60%.
Oh, look, I made a killer deal by hitting the time right and saving $2 on a 0.1 oz of gold. Now I only need $48 more to break even!

The last time I went to the casino in CT I saw the pull lever was missing from the slot machine, that's how long I haven't been to a casino. LOL!

That's been a while, Mac. I don't miss the pull handles but I do miss the sound of coins jangling down into the coin tub when it hits a winner. The ones now just pay off with a paper slip that seems so dead and lifeless compared to the older machines. :-/

No levers and no cash except what you put it. I miss the coins and lever! Found some silver halves back in the day. I don't think any slots pay cash anymore
