picked up some dollar coins to use in Project $100K. Circulating dollar coins. and they asked if I wanted some $2 notes. So I picked up 26 notes ($52) of circulated notes to spend later. There was a pair of consecutive SN#, and one set of three in-a-row consecutive SN#. Notes from 1995, 2003, and 2009 series.

Ok so I have three things to say about this subject.

Quite a few years ago.. maybe ten or so, I read an article in the newspaper. Apparently a man tried to buy somethings with $120 worth of sequential two dollar bills at a local best buy. They detained him, and called the cops. After about four hours of dinkin around they confirmed that the bills were legit money and let him proceed with his purchase and let him go. Ridiculous.

Also there is a bar around here that only gives $2 bills, dollar coins and halves as change. I think it's more of a trick to get more tips. I buy a beer that costs $3 I hand them a five I get a $2 bill as change. Now I can either not tip them or give them the $2 bill back.. and who wants to be that guy who doesn't tip. But paying $5 a beer is a bit outrageous, so I usually just tip every other beer and it works out ok.

And finally, I LOVE spending $2 bills!! I love that moment when they say "Your total is $3.47" and you hand them two $2 bills. There is always a pause.. then they just proceed. I love that pause, and slight look of stumpedness on their face for that split second or two.

So there are my opinions and stories, Enjoy. :)

Happened to me today while buying a burrito at Qdoba. The man had to ask another employee where he was supposed to put it in the cash register!
