Do not worry about posting in mistake. [Re: a previous post] There are a few of my posts that I would want to delete but I also do not know how. I have always liked to pull and save Canadian coins from circulation. Your cent is very nice.

If you have a local coin dealer you can try them. Just make sure you know the list prices before you go in. And respect the fact that the dealer needs to make a profit/living too so they won't offer you list price. If you can find a coin show in your area there will be a number of dealers you can visit and get offers from. ebay offers the best buyer/seller protection if you want to sell it yourself but the ebay & Paypal fees will cost you about 15% of the selling price. You can also use Kijiji, Craigslist etc. To list items for sale on the forums here you need at least 250 posts.

p.s. Remember, there is no 'firm' list price. The website I gave you is 1 source, there is a Trends newsletter most dealers subscribe to that is another source. Charlton coin catalogue may be available at your local library (or you can pick up a copy for about $25) that is another source. If you want to maximize your return you'll need to do a bit of homework. :-)

Tough to sell an ICG graded Canadian coin, look into having it graded by ICCS or PCGS.

Thanks everyone.. I just want to sell it and get something for it since I have no use for it, or the other coins I was given. But thank you all for the quick responses and the website link helped me get some other info on the other coins I was given. I appreciate it.. Also; DBN curiosity has me why is ICG hard to sell?

This looks like a very nice "key" date coin. Do your self a real favour and send it to ICCS to see what they will cross grade it at. ICG coins do have a rather optimistic view on Grading coins sometimes. They can be low or high or right on, have seen all scenarios in the last 10 years. Get it cross graded!! Also sell it after getting three legitimate offers based on the ICCS grade. Good luck!!

ICG and some other American grading firms tend to overgrade. I would be suprised if this coin sells for 50% of its current trends value in this holder.

For small cents, original lustre (red colour) is king. I concur with kitkat1858, you would be very lucky to get 40% of that trend price cited above in a ICG holder. Typically, George V red brown MS-62 to MS-64 small cents can be snapped up at auctions for 40-50% catalogue prices. I hope your friend did not set the reverse price too high on ebay. As an anology, I bought one like that, graded MS-63RB with about 85% red for less than 40% Trends price, in a PCGS holder. You can see it here: https://goccf.com/t/105585&whichpage=1
