I don't know how they polish these coins but I would not rule that out yet.

The only planchets that are polished are proof planchets and that doesn't affect the strength of the strike. This looks like a nice Greaser to me.

It's a nice example, but they're so common I can't imagine they'd be worth more than a few bucks. On ebay, who knows?

I have searched through easily over a million coins and have only found a few with just one letter or 2 letters or numbers wiped right out but have never seen even on this forum to the extent this has been struck through

This is a 1990 Greaser I took from a new bank roll back in 1990 I listed it on ebay about a month ago with a starting bid of.99 cents 2 bucks shipping.Not one Bid

thats a very nice looking/condition coin you got jasper62!
you do see a lot of greasers but nothing to the extent of these I think their collectible and rare

Collectible yes! but not many collectors out there that collect greasers.It's not very dramatic compared to an off center, a large Cud,double struck, etc. there's just not a large base of collectors of this type of error.
